Like many horsemen, Matt began riding as soon as he could walk and as a child spent every waking hour in the saddle. Beginning in the pony Club, competing in campdraft, challenges, futurities and 'Outback Thunder.' After Emerald Ag College where he completed a 'horse mastery' Matt worked for some of Australia's top horse trainers. An opportunity to work for Ron Wanless, training Australia's finest polo ponies aimed at overseas export to the UK highgoal. He quickly obtained a 3 goal professional handicap. Matthew was offered work in Argentina 'the mecca of polo' breaking and training elite polo bred horses. However, Matt decided to start Beauview Park, Beaudesert. Here specializing in Breaking in, sales preparation and spelling to international and Australian clients. After the success of horses returning to clients in winning order, Matt decided to take out his trainers license. Many years training followed with Saturday metro wins to his name. In this time Matthew made a name for himself as racehorse educator, mainly correcting barrier manners. Fixing problemed horses for trainers across QLD and NSW, many on their last chance at becoming a racehorse. In recent times, the decision was made to purchase a property near Clifton to return to his love of campdrafting and educating young horse whilst raising two young girls with his partner, Sian.
Sian is from Leicestershire, England and grew up on the back of a horse. Competing through the ranks of the pony club then in British Eventing and showjumping. First picking up a polo stick at the age of 6, falling in love with the game. A gap year at Ainsley Polo in New Zealand was the beginning of a career in polo. Offered a job in Australia also training polo ponies for Ron Wanless. Sian worked hard to obtain a 2 goal handicap and a 6 goal ladies handicap the highest for any woman in Australia at this time. She has enjoyed playing for her country and also played all over the world including Spain, England, AUS, NZ, Ireland. After having a few years off with a young family, Sian wishes to learn all about drafting and also getting back on the polo field. Also caring for horses at 'Dunnhaven' sharing years of knowledge in the equestrian world.
